MADYA MARG
 
         Madhya Marg is the principal avenue of the City on which a large number of institutional and commercial establishments are located. The road connects the PGI and University with the Railway Station. Starting from the PGI end we approach Sector 11 where the Government College for Boys and the Government College for Girls are located. The Central Craft Institute, Women's Polytechnic, the Home Science College, DAV College for Boys and College of Art are situated in Sector 10. On the other side of the road in Sector 15 are located the Congress Bhawan, Guru Gobind Singh Bhawan and Lala Lajpat Rai Bhawan. The General Hospital is located in Sector-16.

        Thereafter, we approach the Housing Board Chowk. On the right side is the City Centre, the main commercial centre of the Chandigarh. But on the left side of the Sector 9 one can find the most glamorous shops and establishments of the City. We now approach the press chowk which was earlier a round-about but now traffic lights have been installed. Sector 8 on the left of this road contains commercial establishments and this continues in Sector 7 and 26. A number of corporate institutions have their offices on the right side of this road in Sector 18 and 27. In Sector 26 are located a number of educational institutions: Technical Teachers Training Institute, Central Polytechnic and Guru Gobind Singh College. Finally, we reach the transport chowk and on the left side is the Wholesale Fruit.
